Pym

Biography

Pym began tattooing back in the South of Spain in 1987, before it was possible to buy a “gun” on the internet or find out any kind of information about learning how to tattoo without an actual apprenticeship.. Hard to believe in this new age of everybody and their dog has a “homie hook up” or even a “gun” themselves.

Pym kitted out a mobile tattoo studio and went on the road in Spain and Southern France, tattooing on the road and with the carnies on the festival circuits, notably the Spanish Feria and street festivals in France with the circus acrobats now better known as the Cirque du Soleil.

Travelling and tattooing is an attractive proposition and in the early 90’s, Pym worked in many countries and tattoo shops throughout Europe and the American continent, including the temples of southern Mexico.

The list includes but is not limited to:

  • West Coast Tattoo, Vancouver
  • Way Cool Tattoos, Toronto Niagara Falls
  • Triangle Tattoo, Fort Bragg, CA
  • Fine Line, Duesseldorf, Germany
  • Tattoo Peter, Amsterdam, Holland

Pym opened Red Dragon Tattoo in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, Germany in 1995 and worked there until 2000, attending many tattoo conventions and motorcycle rallies throughout Europe during that time, winning awards for many categories of tattooing…

Pym’s first convention was in Frankfurt am Main,Germany in 1992 and although she still works at a few conventions in the Western United States, and occasionally England, her enthusiasm for attending large shows is unfortunately waning!

In 2001 Pym moved to the United States and opened a tattoo partnership, "River City Tattoo" in Old Sacramento, CA until 2005, moving on to open DDT in the small town of Colusa , CA through 2009. A short period of travelling later saw the establishment of 2 shops, Tattoo Technique South with Tattoo Jesse Avery in Kailua Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii and Aces and Eights Tattoo Parlor in Old Sacramento.

Pym is available by appointment in both locations.
